Global treaty to halt invasive aquatic species to enter into force in 2017

After many years of delay the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships' Ballast Water and Sediments (BWM Convention) has now been ratified and will enter into force on 8 September 2017. Pro-actively we, JACOB decided already in 2015 to step ahead and installed the first two Ballast Water Treatment Systems on our vessels KONSTANTIN JACOB and GEORG JACOB in 2016.
The Installation of the same system will follow on our vessels TILL JACOB and CORDULA JACOB in early 2017.
Following Youtube link leads to a presentation by company GOLTENS giving an impression of the installation of the Ballast Water Treatment System on board our vessel KONSTANTIN JACOB.
